Premium costs at such companies and American Integrity are influenced by a range of factors including the type of coverage selected and any applicable discounts. Moreover, the inclusion of special endorsements for additional protections like flood or umbrella insurance can be tailored to the client's needs, but may also affect the overall premium cost.

  • Variability in Premiums: The actual premium rates can vary widely depending on individual circumstances and the specifics of the coverage chosen.

  • Competitive Rates: Compared to the average rates in the U.S., American Integrity's premiums are competitive, particularly when taking advantage of discounts and bundle options.

Eligibility & Underwriting Requirements

Eligibility & Underwriting Requirements

American Integrity Insurance Company has specific criteria and documentation needs for potential policyholders. These requirements help determine eligibility and create accurate, tailored coverage. Here's a breakdown:

Property Details

  • New Construction: Wind mitigation reports are generally not required unless the property has features exceeding building codes (e.g., hurricane shutters).
  • Building Type:
    • Most new single-story builds are masonry (block).
    • Two-story dwellings with hardiplank or stucco siding may be rated Masonry Veneer (if the first story is block, and the second story is frame or block).
  • Community: If the community is new (PC 10), Underwriting (UW) may approve a lower Protection Class if eligible.
  • Address Verification: If an address is too new or has errors in SPIN, Underwriting can correct it via chat or phone using the correct latitude/longitude.
  • Coverage History: To maintain eligibility, it's important to list "New Purchase" or the prior carrier.

Coverage Options and Considerations

  • Contents Coverage: Replacement cost on contents can be added, starting at 25% of Coverage A.
  • Screen Enclosures: The screen enclosure endorsement covers both the mesh screen and the aluminum frame. This is "Limited carport(s), pool cage(s) and screen enclosure(s)," optional coverage, included in the Silver, Gold, or Diamond endorsement.
  • Roof Credit: A stand-alone hip roof credit is available without a wind loss mitigation form if at least 90% of the roof perimeter is hip. Decorative gables above windows and doors don't count towards the 90%, and color photos are required for this credit.
  • Elevated Homes:
    • Elevated homes may be eligible for HO-3 coverage.
    • If not eligible for HO-3, they may be written on DP-3 (with a surcharge) or DP-1 with an open foundation surcharge.
  • Acreage:
    • Homes up to 5 acres are acceptable without UW approval.
    • Homes over 5 acres need UW approval.
  • Farm Animals: Farm animals are acceptable for personal (non-business) use, but limits may apply, so UW approval is needed.
  • Trampolines: Trampolines are acceptable if there's a 4-foot fence in the yard. Netting around the trampoline doesn't count as a fence, and liability coverage doesn't apply to trampoline use.
  • Flood Endorsement: Their flood endorsement is available on most newly constructed homes.
  • Lapses in Coverage:
    • Lapses in HO-3 coverage are ineligible.
    • Lapses may be acceptable with UW approval on a DP-3 policy (up to 30 days), and at renewal, it may be written as an HO-3.
  • Ineligible Animals: "Pit bulls," Staffordshire Bull Terriers, wolves, wolf hybrids, or any mix of these dogs, owned by the insured or kept on the premises, are ineligible. Any dog with a bite history is also ineligible.
  • Roof Type: Flat roofs up to 20% of the total roof structure are acceptable.
  • Wind-Driven Rain: Wind-driven rain is covered when either the Gold or Diamond Reserve Bundle Package is added to the policy. Other restrictions may apply, and more detailed underwriting guidelines, procedures, and eligibility information can be found in their approved manuals.
  • Policy Details: Policy documents should be consulted for complete details on coverage, terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions.
  • Payment Information: The payment address is American Integrity Insurance - P.O. Box 748042 Atlanta, GA 30374-8042 (packages requiring a signature of receipt cannot be accepted).

American Integrity Insurance Customer Reviews

I honestly don't get these bad reviews for American Integrity because I have had nothing but tremendous help from them when needed. I have gone through two hurricanes insured with them. Irma and Ian. Irma got my roof and Ian got my siding and other stuff. Both were covered by AI without issue. I had a great field adjuster (that showed up on time) and the actual coordinator/claims adjuster Ayotunde Onabolu that I spoke with on the phone a few times was fantastic and so helpful! Yes my rates went up but they would have gone up no matter whom I insured with.

I have got to say I am surprised at the number of bad reviews. Like many in FL I had significant losses from Iain. (roof, pool cage, damage to outbuildings and minor water damage inside. The adjuster came out on my schedule which was important as I travel a lot.

This insurance seems good. Had an Ian claim without any problems, but yes a major rate increase but I understand we should get used to this here in Florida. My biggest gripe is their billing/payment methods, or should I say lack of. I too have had bills, then cancellation notices, always leaving me in a panic and for the past 3 years my check never seems to get posted by the due date and I end up having to pay online.

Been with them for 2 houses , over the span of 8 years , no claims ever , live no where near water, received my new policy and it’s about a 200% increase? Went from 1500 to 4400 , I’ve never seen something like this , pure greed.

They denied my claim for roof replacement due to hail damage when a storm passed thru in Feb 2024. Numerous homes all around me have had hail damage and had their roofs replaced. They said my roof had normal wear and tear no damage except my house is only 3 years old. Now I am scheduled for mediation via my attorney to resolve this.
